Definition of offering

Offering used to offer services or assistance to others.

Offering to older people :

- Could I offer you a glass of lemonade, Mrs.Nurahma ?

- Would you like a cup of tea, Mr.Kamesworo ?

- Should I get you a bottle of water ?

Offering to friends :

- Grab some for yourself

- Chocolate ?

- What will you have ?

- Why don't you have some lemonade ?

Less formal expression :

- Can I do something for you ?

- Do you want something to eat ?

- Can I help you ?

Accepting an offer:

- Thank you
- Lovely
- That's very kind of you
- That would be very nice

Declining an offer :

- No, thanks. I'm full.

- Thank you for offering, but......

- No, I really won't. Thank you.

Example :

GFK : hi.

APN : hi too.

GFK : are you hungry ?

APN : no, I'm not.

GFK : are you thirsty ?

APN : yes, I'm.

GFK : would you like a lemonade ?

APN : yes, please.

GFK : here's your lemonade.

APN : thank you.

GFK : any time.

APN : good bye...
